Domain name registration lookup

When we talk about domain name registration lookup, we refer to two things:

1.    Checking availability of a domain: before buy a domain, one needs to do a proper check on the domain name he/she wants you buy or you may just discover that you are buying what has already being sold. There are two ways I have found in doing this:

a.     Using the domain registrar to randomly check if it is available for sale, then typing it on your browser to see if it is really available for sale.

b.    Using other domain lookup service which is not a domain registrar to ensure that what you are paying for has not been sold. You can use google.com to search for such free lookup.

2.    Checking time existence of a domain: this is also important for finding facts about how long a domain has been bought, its expiry date, its IP, which company provided that domain, its traffic ranking and search engine ranking and so on.

What is DNS?

Is your Domain Name Server, thus DNS. It is where your Domain Name is located and it translates your Domain Name into a real IP Address.

What is an IP Address?

This is actually a series of numbers broken up by periods as 191.68.121.42 or other such number. While you and I read domainname.com our computers read those numbers. That is the address of your website. There are lots of sites online that helps you to check the DNS and IP of a site.

With this kind of free tool online you will be able to check out a Domain name registration lookup.
